Head over to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the full report. Nissan Motorsport boss Darren Cox also revealed that the car will have a petrol/hybrid powerplant.

This is great news for the still young championship as it will feature 4 manufacturers with full LMP1 programs in 2015: Audi, Porsche, Toyota and now Nissan.
We will see a Nissan on the Le Mans grid in 2014 already, although it will only be the ZEOD electric car.

I still wish they'd switch to a system where cars of 5L and under would be required to use production based engines, and cars 3L and under would be free to do whatever.

Also, I want a track car for free and one million dollars .

They're going to be racing the R390?

I don't think such a rule is necessary anymore. With the emphasis on hybrid power most manufacturers will switch to small capacity engines for their LMP1 cars. Next year only Toyota will use an engine above 3L.

Sadly not, but I thought it would be an appropriate picture as it is Nissan's last top class Le Mans entry.

Yeah, true. I'm trying to figure out a way to get manufacturers into sports car racing en masse. Would have to limit turbo cars to 2.5-3L in the top class, and 1.5-2L in the bottoms class of my idea.

LMP2 is about perfect: only production based engines are allowed and it has a cost limitation for the chassis and the engine. That's why the class is booming and so strong at Le Mans.
LMP1 needs to introduce a maximum budget per team too, I am thinking of around 80 Million Euros.

And if the marketing and TV presence would be improved as well the manufacturers would join right away.
